Note #5: ambition is the realization of potential
I believe that for all ambitious people, there comes a moment when they realize their true potential lies far beyond their current place in life.
A moment of realization (or revelation) that can't be unseen.
Once they recognize this potential, everything changes. Their current environment no longer satisfies them.
The chase begins. They can't ignore the ecstatic idea that something greater is waiting.
When I was at college, I remember studying that at the heart of realism lies the belief that the constant pursuit of more is intrinsic to human nature.
Ambition can be seen as an internal system that seeks to align your rewards with your evolving abilities.
But one question still lingers: When does ambition spiral out of control? What triggers the shift from healthy drive to self-destruction?
