No More Anxiety
I tend to have anxiety throughout the day. It's nothing crippling, but I've noticed it. Sometimes I'm excited about something. Sometimes I'm nervous about an upcoming event. Somewhat related, I also have these practices that I've integrated into my daily approaches to well-being: different types of breathing, praying, reading Scripture, taking time for myself.
However, I only employ these practices at night before bed and first thing in the morning. They've all been net positive. But I don't have any healthy practices that allow me to feel centered, strong, in control of my emotions, during the day.
My approaches to living everyday mostly involve reason or willpower.
There are popular options that I also don't find soluble. The problem I have with meditation is the consistency. It would feel like one more thing that I had to do. Any practice I adopt to manage surprising stress and/or anxiety should be effortless. What I'm describing should be reactive and efficient, like a tall French waiter.
Daydreaming is potentially counterproductive as a habit. It inspires disassociation and something like object impermanence. Affirmations fail me, as well, as they feel contrived and require effort.
So I'm building something to efficiently help me reduce anxiety. 30 seconds on each use. Just tap a button. The user experience should be convenient, mobile, quick, clean, and effective. It should be like taking a pill for a headache.
I want something anyone with a mobile device can use. More on this.
