Intent is the cousin of Agency. Doing things with intent results in better experiences. Agency isn’t irreverence. Agency is will. Will is differently defined within different constraints. The usual over chatter on the importance of agency has led us all to believe we need to have agency otherwise what the fuck are we even doing. Of course ironically enough that has led to a lot of people suddenly ‘seeking agency’. Agency is what we do when given a chance. Agency is what we do when not given a chance. Agency isn’t what we don’t want to do when given a chance and hence get pissed off about. Agency isn’t wanting to revolt.

Agency is wanting to matter, wanting to craft. Mattering to a system requires being of value to the system. Agency is being of use to the system you rest in, by your own design.
