👩‍💻 MILLENNIALS = NEW VICTORIANS 🎩
People often celebrate the Victorians, marvel at their engineering feats and their willingness to build massive mega-projects that we still rely on today.
During the Victorian era, they likely heaped similar praise on the Romans, whose roads we still depend on centuries later.
What will future generations say about us?
I believe that if we play our cards right and apply maximum pressure, future generations will praise millennials for our willingness to overthrow decelerationist forces and build new Kardashev Infrastructure that stands the test of time.
Why am I so confident?
Because for the last ~40 years, Boomers avoided building pretty much anything, because it as “too risky.” Now, our built environment is crumbling—falling down, burning down, blowing over, or flooding.
WE DON’T HAVE A CHOICE ANYMORE.
I’ve always thought of our generation as “bridgers,” connecting the older generations with the digital natives. But now, we need to literally build and repair bridges.
Only advance.
