Avoid weaponised cringe
I am OK with interacting with people regardless of their object-level beliefs as long as they behave at the meta level
Always be kind (especially if you're right)
If there is a class of people or groups you dislike, be willing to praise at least a few of them that do the best job of satisfying your values
experts are fake, smart generalists rule the world, everything is designed by people no smarter than you, and courage is in shorter supply than genius
As consumer markets become more efficient and we become more skilled at capturing and retaining the attention of the populace, we should expect the average agency of society to decrease.
Effort does not equal quality. Effort has been valued that way because that we you can grade it, that way it works in a society. But society is not life as a whole.
when you don't create things, you become defined by your tastes rather than ability. your tastes only narrow & exclude people. so create.
cringe is a client-side phenomenon
you cannot simply wait for inspiration to strike. it is always present. don't wait for it, don't create it. you just need to see it. start now, then flow.
The world is a museum of passion projects
I like to find (a) simple solutions (b) to overlooked problems (c) that actually need to be solved, and (d) deliver them as informally as possible, (e) starting with a very crude version 1, then (f) iterating rapidly.
Pessimists sound smart, optimists drive the world forwards.
the root cause is that our processes are not robust enough to prevent a person from making this mistake
finished is better than perfect
fall in love with something man. find the upper bounds of your abilities, fall in love with the world and everything everyone's created, work tirelessly to the point of insanity to create something, anything, that when someone looks at, they also fall in love
Viewing capitalism as corrupt removes guilt in exploiting it
invite things into your life that you can't handle yet, because you want to become a person who can handle them
Ego is as much what you don’t think you are as what you think you are.
