Air Travel Pain Points
I'm flying home today. I wanted to highlight some air travel pain points that I think should be solved ASAP.
Accurate Time Projections: We spend lots of time waiting while traveling. Waiting for a delayed plane. Waiting for security. Waiting for checked luggage. Waiting for airport shuttles. Waiting to board. Some of these are inevitable and others are already somewhat solved by TSA Pre-Check (if you're in America). Who's solving the baggage claim problem?
Booking Optimization: There are websites that find last minute deals or compares prices between companies, but none that I've found work extremely well. It's probably because pricing is an arms race between airlines and customers. If someone's able to take my miles, credit card points, and also look at historical pricing to see when's the best time to book, I'd gladly pay a cut of what I saved.
Seat Partner Unpredictability: This one's partially satirical. I just think it's unfair to not know who you're sitting next to — by luck of the draw, you could be placed next to a crying baby or a coughing, unmasked person. Why not give passengers a rating based on how good of a seat partner they are, and have their flight prices be contingent on their current rating?
